Fear of Falling (Words & Music Baxter Stone) What ever you believe don’t make it true Yet you must believe to see the truth Tell me what you make of it, Tell me what you think of it Tell me what’s your take on it, Tell me how you see it fits Tell what’s the spin on it, Tell me how you interpret it Tell me what your judgement is, Tell me your analysis What ever you believe don’t make it true Yet you must believe to see the truth I got to know what’s spinning in your mind I got to know Feel the vibration A fear of falling The ground’s pulsating a fear of falling A thousand eyes on you glowing on the hillside Their observing investigating Tell what’s the spin on it, tell me how to interpret it Tell me what your judgement is, tell me your analysis What ever you believe don’t make it true Yet you must believe to see the truth I got to know what’s spinning in your mind I got to know, I got to know What’s spinning in your mind I got to know, I got to know Feel the vibration a fear of falling The ground’s pulsating a fear of falling A fear of falling A fear of Falling A fear of Falling A fear of falling

Brine 03:40
Brine (Words & Music Baxter Stone & Adrian Morgan) I get the munchies late in the night I get up and go to the fridge I pull out a can of tuna fish I hold up close to my nose One sniff and my senses explode I drink the brine and throw away the fish I know I’m a selfish son of a bitch I drink the brine and throw away the fish That poor fish would still be swimming the ocean blue If wasn’t for people like me and you Who like to conquer divide and rule Some people are addicted to coke Others got cigarettes Because they like to smoke Eat or be eaten isn’t that the rule I know I’m a selfish son of a bitch I drink the brine and throw away the fish ah ah woe ah I know I’m a selfish son of a bitch I drink the brine and throw away the fish I feel sorry for my friend the tuna fish Gets caught and canned and made into this And I drink the brine And throw him away It troubles me and it should trouble you Our poor friend should be swimming in the ocean blue Drink brine Drink brine Drink brine Drink brine Drink brine and I throw away the fish Our poor friend would be still swimming around If wasn’t for people like us Bringing him down Who like to conquer divide and rule Eat or be eaten Isn’t that the way But I feel sorry for my friend today Oh yeah he was a poor tuna fish

Disappear 03:25
Disappear (Words & Music Jim Gamack) My Friend and me We stole ship down by the sea Sailed away from our robbery Straight of the edge of the world The first mate scared me down With a cutless face Hitched our sails around the cape Straight of the edge of the world Disappear I've Disappeared Without a trace I’m so down hearted with that human race Out on the open sea Waves are crashed down around you and me All the same we’re feeling free to go straight off the edge of the world After months away no regrets about a single day Take me far away Straight of the edge of the world Disappear I've Disappeared I won’t show my face I won’t show my face

Sticks or Stones (Words & Music) Baxter Stone I've got the postmortem blues Ruminating on you I know I was so loaded last time we talked Low esteem has cut us down In this dirty town We gambled and lost our last chance I got the blues so bad I can’t talk I’m a loose cannon on deck I got to choose between sticks or stones Thin skin or broken bones Remember when we got tattooed An showed them off down at the pub Went swimming in the surf just to prove we were tough I needed thinking time with Coogee Bay looking blue Walking up from the main street to the cliff top path I got the blues so bad I can’t talk I’m a loose cannon on deck I got to choose between sticks or stone Thin skin or broken bones I saw a woman up there She was a vision with flaming hair Like a halo in the sunlight She turned to me and said Ooh It’s a wonderful life Ooh it’s a wonderful life Well I wasn’t so sure I freed a boat from its moor I saw a shark in the water and dived in I'm ain’t afraid of you there's plenty of people That scare me more than you they disturb me back on the shore I got the blues so bad I can’t talk I’m a loose cannon on deck I got to choose between sticks or stone Thin skin or broken bones

Little House on The Herb (Words & Music Baxter Stone & Adrian Morgan) My good friend Steve called today He just called up to say g'day Now there’s not many people that do that these days We would go busking down at the mall And you remember those hippies that Would invite us over for tea Little old house Little old house The Incense burning Curtains in the lounge room Thirteen floor elevators on the sterio The smell of herbs emanates from the kitchen The smell pervades your nose Little old house on the herb Little old house on the herb Little old house on the herb Just a little old house Little old house on the herb The veggies are growing and in the green house outside Bob Marley ‘s driving the exodus has arrived Those girls with dreadlocks rings through their nose A smell of freedom it comes and goes And looking out where have these people gone Are they still with us or lost in a desert of time Little old house just my little old house on the herb Little old house on the herb Little old house just my little old house on the herb Little old house just my little old house on the herb And looking out where have these people gone Are they still with us or lost in a desert of time
7.
Step Right Up (Words & Music Baxter Stone, Adrian Morgan, Jillian O'Dowd) Winter comes bang on time The bitter winds We pay no mind With a song to sing we’d lift up any heart Mother’s love Wraps you like a coat Follows you like a holy ghost Those silly scenes inside Would make us laugh Step inside Step Right Up Come Inside Once we would wind down the strip Laughter at our finger tips There’s a band at every bar Mad love strikes us hapless two Kissing on the avenue The kings of neon beacon you to try Step inside Step Right Up Come Inside It was a long time ago Things change and grow You got pay the toll In exchange you grow old Step inside Step Right Up Come Inside Information overload Plug and pray and hope it loads Lock and load the closed circuit heart On every street in every town They stick them up and pull them down Instead of bands There’s a karaoke bar and everyone's a star Step inside Step Right Up Come Inside Na Na Na Na Na Na

Too Much Too Soon (Words & Music Baxter Stone) They say it’s never too late for redemption And now so near the end we shall see It was all, all too much, too soon I never did believe in an after life And now so near the end It makes you think twice It was all, all too much, too soon Life can get dangerous Time scarce too fast to fool Find time for happiness Safe from the bad things that you do I shake, i shake, i shake, I shake i’m not being funny It was a funny sort of loving Automatic pumped and ready Who took the voodoo from the city Cafe’s with nothing but cliches A cartel of bitches and leaches No charity for the children Stand in line for the double feature It was all too much All too much too soon It was all too much All too much too soon It was all too much All too much too soon It was all too much All too much too soon It was all too much All too much too soon It was all too much All too much too soon

about

'Barking Up The Wrong Tree' The album was recorded in February 2017 with most of the tracking was done Feb 10 and 11 in Kangaroo Valley during a heatwave. I mention it because you can almost sense the heat in the air around the recording. The initial CD was released on 26th November and was sold at the bands gigs. People were very positive about it. However I always felt there was a better version of it.

Now we've been forced to have break from gigging due to the mess that is 2020. It has enabled us time to look back. A couple of years down the track and having a few more tricks up our sleeve technically we were able to address some of the issues around the initial release.

So here it is! 'Barking Up the Wrong Tree' remixed and mastered.

Of this album I think it was a mighty ambitious effort and I feel the songs stand the test of time and people who come to our gigs know them well and sing along.
